Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide range of products, fixtures and components for a variety of manufacturers.
On Line Graphics and Finishing provides this service to multiple industries from aerospace to retail and anywhere in between. The powder used in this process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment and resin, which is sprayed onto the surface to be coated. Electrostacially charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded surfaces until heated and fused into a smooth coating in a curing oven.

The powder coating process does not require a solvent making it environmentally friendly with virtually no harmful VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions being released. The result is a uniform, durable, high-quality, and attractive finish with the ability to produce thicker coatings when needed without the running or sagging typically experienced with conventional liquid coatings. Need some help in deciding on the best application for your project? Powder Coat or Paint?

Check out these FAQ's:

I have a certain color that I need to match - how easy is it to match powder coat colors to my choice?

Powder Coat is exactly as its name portrays (powder), therefore powders cannot be mixed with the intent of creating a color match, and the result is likely speckled and uneven. However, with the high volume of colors available to choose from, you will probably find a perfect match!

Can you match paint colors?

Yes, it is easier to match paint to a specific sample and even to match paint to a Powder Coat color if necessary.

If I want my Powder Coat project to have a little distinction from the average paint finish, what are my options?

There are multiple textures to choose from and various levels of gloss finish. Just a touch of gloss all the way up to a full 100% gloss finish.

Can you Powder Coat anything?

Just about anything, and we will accept any challenge! However, due to the high temperatures used in the Powder Coating process - your object must be heat resistant! For example, think about how you would use your regular oven at home (no plastic in the oven!) - Powder Coating is baked in an oven at extremely high temperatures.

What is the dry time?

No dry time - since the process takes place in the oven, once it has cooled your project is done.

My project has many holes and areas that do not need to be painted - how do I protect the integrity of my design?

Our highly skilled team of technicians will mask and plug your project so the coating only goes where you want it to go!

Soft Touch Coating

Soft touch coatings offer a finish to reduce glare while creating a more luxurious appearance. This form of coating is highly durable and extremely resistant to harmful UV radiation while maintaining a deep color and soft touch for years. The soft touch coatings contain properties which are able to eliminate or reduce scratches over time, in a “self-healing” manner and if a small section needs to be re-coated it can be blended in with the original coating. Spray application is easier to apply and is versatile enough to be used for complex curves and shapes.

EMI Shielding for the Aerospace and Medical Industries

Electrostatic discharge is a phenomenon created from static electricity. This is the static electricity that each of us has experienced in some way in everyday life also known as EMI (Electromagnetic Interference). EMI can be a source of significant damage to electronic equipment such as electrical boxes and chassis that house electronic equipment, not to mention an inconvenience when you are constantly being shocked or passing on a static electricity shock to someone else!

On Line Graphics and Finishing offers copper, nickel, and silver based liquid EMI coatings providing an excellent range of EMI shielding over a wide frequency range intended for the shielding of non-conductive substrates. This application is widely used in aerospace, military and medical applications. Our skilled masking technicians can meet the most stringent tolerances when preparing your project for this process.
